About OTZ

In 2006, Dallas chiropractor Dr. Francis X. Murphy put into practice a unique form of analysis and correction targeted at the condition known as Frozen Shoulder Syndrome (FSS). Since then, hundreds of patients with FSS have sought out Dr. Murphy for this treatment and have had their FSS successfully resolved. After two years of observation, study, and the assistance of many health care institutions and patients, a new understanding of the nature and causes of FSS has emerged and has been developed in the OTZ curriculum. FSS has been linked to certain neurological disorders which the OTZ diagnosis and treatment approach has also shown tremendous promise as well as generated new questions.

Until recently, most in the medical community believed Frozen Shoulder Syndrome was an orthopedic condition. However, the research and patient outcome studies performed and published by Dr. Murphy over the past two years clearly indicate that Frozen Shoulder Syndrome is a neurological condition rather than an orthopedic condition.

Dr. Murphy's discovery forms the core principal of the One-To-Zero (OTZ) Tension Adjustment™ and related OTZ Muscle Tension Technique™ treatment of Frozen Shoulder Syndrome. Because Frozen Shoulder Syndrome is neurological in nature, physical shoulder therapies become useful only after the nervous system has been righted. The OTZ diagnosis and treatment procedure effectively addresses the root neurological cause of the condition first. Then, the orthopedic aspects are treated through a variety of therapies.
